Are images uploaded to the ASCII converter?
Image to ASCII is a free online tool that converts your images to ASCII art entirely within your web browser. When you upload an image, it is read locally using the HTML canvas API. Your image data is never transmitted to, stored on, or processed by any server we control. When you close or refresh the page, the image is gone from memory.
Images and ASCII output we do not collect
We do not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or the images you convert. Because the image to ASCII conversion happens client-side, we have no access to the content you generate.
Website analytics and cookie information
We may use aggregate website analytics to understand page visits, device categories, and general usage patterns. Analytics does not receive the image selected in the converter or the ASCII characters created from it.
